The Alps-Gold kalimba is an amazing instrument with unique characteristics, not only when it comes to the sound but also in the design. A kalimba is the modern version of the Mbira, a typical African instrument. All 17 tones made of stainless steel in C major harmonize, therefore you will never play a dissonant tone. The kalimba is made of a soundboard in mahogany and metal keys with the imprinted, respective notes. The special feature of this kalimba is the engraving of the stunning South Tyrolean Alps.
 
Thanks to the traditional method of construction, the kalimba creates a warm, relaxing and long-lasting sound. The instrument comes with a protective case. The set also contains two finger protections in order to learn the right playing technique without damaging the thumbs. Note-stickers are included to simplify the learning. In order to tune the kalimba correctly, the set comes with a tuning hammer. The tuning can be modified by slightly moving the keys and by using an electronic tuner. It is advisable not to change the tuning by more than a semitone compared to the main tuning.
